Mom: Autopsy Finds Corey Haim Suffered Pulmonary Congestion

The official autopsy results for Corey Haim have not been released publicly, but his mother says the coroner called her to disclose the actor suffered pulmonary congestion.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Judy Haim says an autopsy also found he had an enlarged heart along with the water in the lungs.

What role those factors played, if any, in Haim’s death isn’t known. L.A. Coroner Chief Craig Harvey confirms that the autopsy was completed at 11 a.m. Thursday, but notes, “There is no final cause of death at this time.”

“The final cause of death has been deferred pending additional tests that have been ordered,” he says.

Shortly before his death Wednesday at age 38, Haim complained of flu-like symptoms and had a high fever. His former fiancée, Tiffany Shepis, also tells PEOPLE the actor had long suffered from heart problems.

“Every time he would go to a doctor they’d tell him he had really bad arrhythmia, probably due to clogged arteries,” she says. “They all said he should have it taken care of. But, being from Canada, his insurance was there, so he never went and got it done.”

Shepis, who was engaged to Haim briefly between 2008 and 2009, says he also struggled with addiction. “His problem was with prescription drugs – painkillers and Valium,” she says. “His addictions are common knowledge. And the longer [you] are addicted to something, the harder it is for you to quit. And that’s what he was facing.”

Katherine Heigl Doesn’t Return to Grey’s Anatomy Set

On Grey’s Anatomy, Dr. Izzie Stevens has been missing from Seattle Grace Hospital, and now the actress who plays her — Katherine Heigl – hasn’t been seen at work.

Although Heigl, 31, was scheduled to return to the set March 1 after three months of maternity leave, “she was not there,” a source close to the situation tells PEOPLE.

Speculation has been mounting that Heigl is off the show for good after six years to focus on her film career. ABC isn’t commenting. But Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes has agreed to release Heigl from her contract, and it’s now left to ABC Studios and the actress’s rep to work out the final deal. – Lisa Ingrassia

Tiger Woods — Major Clue in Golf Comeback

Tiger Woods has still not announced when he’s returning to golf — but TMZ has learned one upcoming tournament is beginning to make several mysterious arrangements … arrangements that have Tiger’s tracks all over them.

It’s all connected to the Tavistock Cup — an exclusive golf tournament scheduled to begin on March 22nd, which pits the Lake Nona Country Club against the Isleworth Country Club … where Tiger is a member.

The famously private event is known for allowing fans to get up close and personal with the golfers — but sources close to the tournament tell us management for the Isleworth Country Club, this year’s home course, has suddenly decided to cut down on the number of passes given to Lake Nona employees.

We’re told several staff members are being told the move is being orchestrated by Tiger’s camp — in an effort to control who will have access to the golfer when he makes his return.

We’ll see if they’re right in t-minus 10 days …

Jessica Simpson is not afraid to poke fun at her past failed romances, but the singer still hopes to find true love.

“I hope I don’t die alone, that’s for damn sure,” she told the audience Wednesday at IHeartRadio presents An Evening with Jessica Simpson in Manhattan.

As for what she’s looking for in a guy, Simpson, 29, says, “Hopefully I can find a man that understands my life and understands my purpose. I just need to find the right man.”

Dating in the public eye is challenging for the star whose new VH1 series, The Price of Beauty, debuts Monday. “It does affect certain decisions. Like, I’d love to go out to dinner with certain people I’ve met but I can’t because everyone would be like, ‘Wow!!! They’re gonna get married!’ “

During the event Wednesday, which included a Q&A sessions with Simpson led by Danielle Morano from Z100’s Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, the singer performed “Who We Are,” the song she co-wrote for The Price of Beauty with pal Billy Corgan.
