The oil-soaked handwriting is on the wall … TMZ has learned “Jersey Shore” is about lose 4 familiar, overly-tanned faces in Season 3 … to make room for 4 fresh overly-tanned faces.

Our spies tell us …  the footage that was already shot of Sammi, Ronnie, Vinny and Angelina has  “underwhelmed” MTV honchos. As for replacing them for Season 3, one source said, “They should be very worried.”

As for The Situation, Snooki, Pauly D and Jwoww … they’re sold for next season.

Miley Cyrus: “I’m Not Trying to Be Slutty”

Don’t misjudge Miley Cyrus‘s fondness for cleavage-bearing gowns, skin-tight corsets and super-short shorts — or her pole and lap-dancing performances.

“I’m not trying to be ‘slutty’,” the 17-year-old “Can’t Be Tamed” singer tells the Associated Press.

“I’m not trying to be, like, go to the club and get a bunch of guys,” says Cyrus, who’s currently dating Australian actor Liam Hemsworth. “What I’m trying to do is make a point with my record and look consistent, in the way my record sounds and the way I dress.”

In her video for “Can’t Be Tamed,” (the album of the same name debuts next week) Cyrus wore a $25,000 corset, shows off her legs in hot-pants while writhing in a cage, and, in another scene, wears a low-cut leotard with thigh-high boots and feathers. She posed nearly topless on the December 2008 cover of Vanity Fair, and turned heads in August 2009 with a pole-dancing routine at the Teen Choice Awards.

Cyrus defends her provocative behavior and outfits. “I’m really comfortable with my body, I work really hard to be fit and to know that I can wear whatever makes me most comfortable.”

As a maturing teen, she adds that “I feel more comfortable dressing with a little less, which is just how I’ve always been…Now I’m able to do that a little more freely and, also, I’ve just grown up to be this way too. It’s not like this was me five years ago. It’s me now, presently.”

The singer and actress, whose star-making Disney series Hannah Montana wraps this year, explains that she’s “grown into” becoming sexy. “When you’re 11, the word you would use to describe someone is definitely not sexy, and as you get older I think you grow into that. And I think I’ve done that but that’s not my schtick. That’s not what I’m trying to do to sell records. I want people to buy my record because of my music.”

The chemistry may be heating up in the third Twilight: Saga film, but Robert Pattinson didn’t feel any added pressure. Instead, he was more at ease.

“Kissing felt a little bit more natural in Eclipse, even if there was plenty of it,” he tells Parade.

“In New Moon and Twilight it was always like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna kill you if I kiss you’ or something. It was always kind of odd,” says the 24-year-old. “But in Eclipse, [Edward and Bella] understand their situation a lot more, which makes it easier.”

The result: “It’s the first time Kristen and I have been able to just act like a normal couple,” he says.

But before fans get too excited that Pattinson, 24, might’ve just officially outed him and costar Kristen Stewart, 20, as a couple, the Brit still dodges the dreaded dating question.

“I guess people like stories, that’s my basic conclusion,” he says when asked if the two are also a couple off-screen. “[Fans] just want everything in our lives to be like Twilight. The truth is that I wish I had a few more hours of sleep today so I could think of a better answer. I’m exhausted all the time.”

And while his big screen alter ego fights for the woman he loves, Pattinson says he isn’t as chivalrous in real life.

“I don’t compete. I’m not good at doing it. I just kind of leave it alone,” he says. “Have I ever gotten in a fight with someone for the love of a woman? I have to think. Probably. But I don’t know if it was about love or if it was more about pride.”

Snooki Has a Twitter Flirtation with a New Kid on the Block

He may be from Boston, but that doesn’t mean New Kid on the Block Jordan Knight doesn’t have a favorite girl in Jersey!

After Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi Tweeted to Knight, “Wanna meet up since your [sic] in town? We can finally fist pump together,” Knight replied, “I’d love to Snooks…. Lemme know. I’m all yours.”

Knight, who is in the area to perform at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, continued his funny flirtatious Tweeting, writing: “Just so you all know …. I’m yours forever not just a few fist pumps.”

Say what? Knight then Tweeted, “Wow …. that sounded very dirty and very sweet all at the same time.”

But it looks like Snooki’s bravado isn’t as big as her poof: The reality star hasn’t replied to Knight.

New York boy attempts tighty whities record

WARWICK, N.Y. — A 10-year-old boy from New York may have set the world record for wearing the most pairs of tighty whities.

Jack Singer’s family had to help him with the task, since he couldn’t do much but stand and lie down.

In the end, he put on 215 pairs of underwear in 18 minutes. The previous record was 200 pairs of underpants.

“It felt kinda relaxing after I laid down, because I feel better when I lay down,” the boy said. “My feet were asleep. Totally asleep.”

The record still needs to be certified, but it’ll give Singer some time to recuperate.

Singer set the record on his birthday and requested that all his party guests donate money to a wounded marine.
