Paris Hilton Detained in Japan Over Cocaine Case

TMZ has learned Paris Hilton is a captive in a Japanese hotel tonight and can’t enter the country …  after being detained at the airport for hours over her guilty plea for cocaine possession.

A source close to Paris tells us she flew to Japan on business and was questioned by immigration authorities as she got off the plane.  Immigration authorities are allowing Paris to stay at an airport hotel until the matter is resolved.  For her part, Paris hasn’t decided whether to stay or leave.

Paris’ rep tells TMZ, “Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier.  Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn’t want to let down her brands and many Asian fans.”

An employee at the Consulate-General of Japan in NYC tells TMZ … Japan is strict about letting people into the country with recent drug convictions but these matters are handled “on a case by case basis.”

Paris’ rep added … she will fulfill her contract but right now things are beyond her control.

We’re told there was a conflict within the ranks of those who questioned Paris — some of whom felt it was for show.

Lindsay Lohan-Ready to Pop for $50 Grand?

Lindsay Lohan has a chance to score a major payday — a cool $50,000 — and TMZ has learned all she has to do for the cash is burst balloons … for a fetish website.

A rep for Clips4Sale.com tells TMZ they sent the offer to Lindsay’s lawyer — if LiLo comes in and pops a few balloons — on camera of course — she’ll leave $50,000 richer. No nudity. No whips. No chains.

Confused? TMZ spoke to several balloon-popping enthusiasts who tell us the rush comes from “the feeling of fear associated with a balloon that may pop at any second.” Who knew?

There are worse ways to make a buck, Linds … just ask Octomom. Just sayin’.

Dancing with the Stars kicked off season 11 with a snazzy bang – but ultimately one contestant had to be the first to hang up their dancing shoes.

(Keep reading to find out who was DWTS‘s first casualty.)

In the end, it was down to just two couples on Tuesday night’s results show: David Hasselhoff and pro Kym Johnson and Kyle Massey and his pro Lacey Schwimmer. Ultimately, David Hasselhoff was the first celebrity to be voted off the ABC show.

“It’s been a great ride,” he said before taking another spin around the parquet. “I feel bad for Kym because she worked so hard to try and get me where I was going. I’m just so proud that my daughters are here and got to see me go this far. So, it’s great.”

Hasselhoff’s first dance on Monday’s show, a stiff cha cha, landed him in the bottom initially with only 15 points.

On Tuesday’s elimination show, the former Baywatch star was joined in the bottom by Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Kurt Warner. Both stars were deemed safe due to their combined scores – made up by judges’ points and viewers’ votes – leaving only Hasselhoff and Massey up for elimination.

The L.A. County Probation Dept. will recommend that Judge Elden Fox throw Lindsay Lohan in jail for failing two drug tests … TMZ has learned.

We broke the story … Lindsay tested positive for both cocaine and amphetamines.

And this is interesting … our sources say the D.A. will not make a recommendation when Lindsay appears in court Friday AM.

Lindsay could get 30 days for each failed test.

Mel to Oksana — ‘I Could Commit a Crime’

Wow this letter was a cry for help! It’s to bad that things have gotten so bad for the both of them because it really could have been avioded!

Mel to Oksana — ‘I Could Commit a Crime’

Mel Gibson wrote a frantic, rambling letter to Oksana Grigorieva a year before their infamous,  January blowout — in which he describes feeling so out of control that he “could drink or commit a crime.”

TMZ has obtained a copy of the letter — handwritten by Mel — and in it he says, “I’m so ragged I could drink or commit a crime. The anger seems to be out of my control — I need to do something about it something lasting — not just a band aid.”

In the undated letter — which sources connected to the case tell TMZ was written in December 2008 — he says, “I don’t know why I’m so whacky and depressed but I need to get well and re-enter life.  Please don’t be upset I’ve gone — I’m just not myself and feel bad when I am so f**ked up and sick around you.”

Mel goes on:  “I don’t want to inflict this unhealthy version of myself on you.”

Mel theorizes, “Maybe it’s some kind of male menopause — or Brian’s s**t.”  We’re told Brian is Mel’s holistic doctor.

In the letter, Mel repeatedly tells Oksana, “I love you” and says, “…this isn’t who I was meant to be — I know it!  I’m scared I can’t get back.”
