Although she only separated from hubby Jordan Bratman two days before these photos were taken, Christina Aguilera gives Redbook the deets on what keeps her strong, focus and inspired.

Here are some HIGHlights:

On the power of women:
“Every woman has the ability or the drive to do it all and have it all. Men aren’t as strong and capable as we are. We’re machines.”

On balancing work and motherhood:
“My life is cyclical. First it’s album time, then it’s touring time. I go through phases, so we roll with the punches. I’m not a 9-to-5 woman who has the same kind of lifestyle for years on end. I couldn’t do it. I need the spontaneity, that thrill of change. That’s part of how I get inspired. You know, this is what the cards have in store for Max. We put it into his brain early on that he’s a traveling guy. He adapts well when we go from hotel to hotel.”

Nicole Richie on Xtina:
“It’s very clear through Christina’s music what a strong woman she is. But to watch her as a mother only skyrockets the respect I have for her. She is the woman who’s recording until 4 a.m. and up at 7 to be with her son. Her dedication to Max is incredible.”

Wonder how she’s really holding up!

In a recent interview, George W. Bush admitted that the low point in his presidency came when Kanye West called him a racist (in so many words).

After getting wind of it, Kanye responded, saying that he went through a similar experience when he was called racist after the Taylor Swift incident:

“I definitely can understand the way he feels, to be accused of being a racist in any way, because the same thing happened to me, where I got accused of being a racist. West replied, referring to the aftermath of his run-in with Taylor Swift last fall. “For both situations, it was basically a lack of compassion that America felt in that situation. With him, it was a lack of compassion of him not rushing, him not taking the time to rush down to New Orleans. For me, it was a lack of compassion of cutting someone off in their moment. But nonetheless, I think we’re all quick to pull a race card in America. And now I’m more open, and the poetic justice that I feel, to have went through the same thing that he went [through] — and now I really more connect with him on just a humanitarian level.”

You gotta love the empathy he expresses for Bush, who is someone that people rarely express any empathy for!

A 20-year-old man is facing weapons charges after an incident in a Halifax apartment Wednesday night.

Police responded to a call from the 100 block of Old Sambro Road that a man had a rifle pointed at a woman.
The man is expected in court later today

 

Stephen John Cole of Cole Harbour has been accused of defrauding an overseas company of more than $50,000.

The overseas company notified police after goods purchased from a Nova Scotia company were supposedly never delivered.

 Cole will appear in a Dartmouth court later this month

A Montreal woman is facing 66 charges in Halifax following thefts from a city bank.

Police say that an investigation started last week after the financial institution stated to become suspicious about a customer’s banking activity.
A number of bank accounts were being opened using fake identification and those accounts were used to cash counterfeit cheques.
