Cell Phones Will Soon Be Able To Diagnose STDs

Cell Phones Will Soon Be Able To Diagnose STDs

OMG this is the second big story today about new ways to diagnose STDs!

Doctors and tech experts are developing small devices, similar to pregnancy testing kits, that will allow someone to test themselves for an STD. Experts in the UK are hoping that it will help combat the rising rates of herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhoea among young people.

STDs have drastically increased for the last decade in the UK and reached a record 482,696 last year. Two-thirds of women reporting a new STD were under 25, as were more than half of men.

This type of technological advancement is just one step out of many that must be taken to preventing the spread of STDs, and we’re happy it’s being taken!

People’s Choice Awards Nominations Announced!

Go Twilight I can’t wait for the next one to come out!

  People’s Choice Awards Nominations Announced!

twilight-peoples-choice.jpg

And without a single person being surprised, Twilight leads the way with the most nominations this year.

The nominations for this year’s People’s Choice Awards have just been announced. The Twilight movies and their band of merry vamps lead the number of noms with eight bids. The movie itself got two nominations while the Holy Trinity of Twilight each snagged two noms a piece.

Considering that Twi-Hards probably spent the last month glued to their computers voting up a storm, Rob, Kristen and Taylor better make an appearance or there will be hell to pay!

Rounding out the nods in movies were the teams behind Inception and Iron Man 2, while Grey’s Anatomy snagged the most noms in the television category.

On the music end of the awards, Eminem, Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry, P!nk, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga were all double nominees. (Who to chose?!)

Sounds like there could be a lot of excellent people in attendance!

CLICK HERE to check out the rest of the nominees and to vote for your faves.

Who do U want to see win?

(Before you answer that, remember the Twi-Hards have probably already formed daily schedules on how to effectively vote for their vamps a million times a day. Just saying.)

Oh, Hey Lindsay!

She looks really good! Betty Ford Clinic seems to be really working for her!

Oh, Hey Lindsay!

linday-lohan-out-of-betty-ford.jpg

Looking really good, girl! Keep it up!

This morning, Lindsay Lohan took the next step in her recovery process. She moved out of her inpatient room at the Betty Ford Clinic into an outpatient house near the facility. She is expected to stay in the house until January, but the move suggests that Lindsay will have a bit more freedom than before.

Hopefully this baby step won’t turn into a tumble into a black hole.

Almost Half Of All Women Now Have A Tomato-Shaped Butt

Almost Half Of All Women Now Have A Tomato-Shaped Butt

According to a new survey almost half of all women today have a TOMATO-shaped backside.

That’s based on a study of 18,000 women.

they’ve broken down their analysis of the female booty into four categories:

the Tomato, the Potato, the Pear, and the Nectarine.

The Tomato: 45% of women now rock the tomato, which means a plumper, rounder backside that is, quote, “squishy to the touch.” (???) Think Beyonce and J-Lo.

The potato: The potato-shaped rear accounts for about 30% of women today.

It’s wide, long, and lumpy. If you’re sporting a potato, the ‘experts’ advise you to wear a tulip-style skirt . . . like a pencil skirt but wider in the hips, and a couple inches shorter.

The pear: 15% of women have a pear-shaped backside: It’s when you have a narrow waist, and a rear that’s almost twice as wide at the base. So, not as bad as it sounds.

The nectarine: Only 10% of women . . . or one in ten . . . have the nectarine.

It looks like a, quote, “cartoon-esque perfection of two bowling balls pushed together.”

the effects of plentiful attractive food have taken their toll and spherical derrieres have given way to the tomato and the more unfortunate potato rear.”

In other words . . . the tomato’s not necessarily bad news, ladies. Dr. Holmes says to think of it as, quote, “a new take on the peach, which is fast becoming the norm in modern society.”

Bret Michaels: I Didn’t Have an Affair with Miley Cyrus’s Mom

Hmm he says he didn’t have an affair but in Hollywood they can deny it and it still be true or it was someone just trying to spice up the story… time will tell what the real story is.

Don’t blame Bret Michaels.

The rocker denied rumors that he had an affair with Miley Cyrus‘s mother, Tish, who last month split from Billy Ray Cyrus after 17 years of marriage.

When asked on Fox & Friends if he’d had an affair with Tish, Michaels replied, “The answer is no.”

“I’ve been friends with her family forever,” Michaels added. “It started out with me and Miley simply working on a song together. Her mom, Tish, likes “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” the first concert Miley ever saw was Poison, and so they wanted to remake it for the new record.”

Reports surfaced last week that the Poison frontman was the possible cause behind the Cyrus divorce. Last month, Billy Ray filed divorce papers in Tennessee citing irreconcilable differences.

Michaels insists his involvement with the Cyrus family has been strictly professional. “When I was in the studio, Miley came in and sang on my song … and that was it,” he said.

As for how Miley’s taking her parents’ divorce? A source close to the singer told PEOPLE last week, “she’s trying to keep everything private while her family works through this.”

Fall 2010 Beauty Report: The messy bun

The mussed-up twist made a resurgence on the fall runways.

Worn predominantly at the nape of the neck, buns made a fashionable resurgence this fall at Celine, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Valentino and Donna Karan. Casual and wispy, messy and imperfect, twisted and twirled, and sometimes little more than a ponytail tucked up and under-each version exuded a romantic feeling.

Your daily horoscope

IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY:

What motivates you? What drives you on from day to day? Whatever it is you must devote more time to it over the coming year. There may be a thousand and one little things you have to do but it’s this one big thing that gives your life meaning.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20):

Why the guilt feelings? Have you broken the law? Most likely you haven’t done anything you would be arrested for but because some people don’t agree with your aims you may try to hide what you’ve been up to. Don’t. You’ve done nothing wrong.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21):

If you allow yourself to fall for someone’s charms today you could be inviting a whole lot of trouble into your life. Act on the assumption that anyone who comes on strong romantically has their interests, rather than your interests, at heart.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 21):

If what others expect of you is different to what you expect of yourself don’t change your ways just to stay in their good books. The planets urge you to be a bit more selfish than usual. Don’t put yourself under pressure to conform.

CANCER (June 22 – July 23):

You will be at your very best today: both at home and at work you will dazzle with your wit and your wisdom. There may be one or two sticky moments relationship-wise but you can and you will charm your way out of trouble.

LEO (July 24 – Aug. 23):

Someone is scheming to make life difficult for you, so be on your guard today and be wary of situations where you are likely to be out of your depth. That applies as much to your private life as it does to your work.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23):

It may annoy you that a friend or a family member seems incapable of seeing your side of the story but getting hot under the collar about it won’t change a thing. Pretend you have not noticed their antagonism and carry on as before.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23):

What happens over the next 24 hours may be unsettling but it’s not the end of the world – not nearly – so don’t panic. Libra is a resourceful sign and you will always find ways to deal with a crisis, be it big or be it small.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22):

Take care not to read too much into what happens today, especially where affairs of the heart are concerned, The signals you are getting are liable to be twisted to such an extent that you get the wrong end of the stick entirely.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21):

Are you being allowed to express yourself in the way that you would like? If not, make an extra special effort today to put forward your opinions. The more outspoken you are the more others will accept you have a right to be heard.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20):

It may seem as if someone is trying to deceive you – all the signs are there – but can you be sure? Chances are you have allowed your mind to interpret those signs in completely the wrong way. Try being a bit more trusting.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19):

Authority figures of one stripe or another have been very helpful of late but don’t push your luck and demand too much of them. They like you not only because you do such a good job but also because you are so easy to deal with.

PISCES (Feb. 20 – Mar. 20):

Your belief in yourself has taken a bit of a dive and the best way to deal with your waning self-confidence is to set yourself a challenge that demands the very best of you. Force yourself to face up to, and beat, your fears.
