BROCCOLI fights wrinkles

BROCCOLI fights wrinkles
“A cup of broccoli has 100 percent of your vitamin C—crucial for production of collagen, which gives skin elasticity,” says Tammy Lakatos Shames, R.D. It’s also rich in beta-carotene, which the body converts to vitamin A. This vitamin assists in cell turnover, so old skin cells are replaced with fresh (read: younger-looking) ones.
AVOCADOS help flatten your belly
AVOCADOS help flatten your belly
Avocados are high in monounsaturated fat, which has been shown to help you drop weight, including from your troublesome middle. In one study, people who got the most monos (about 23 percent of their daily calories) had about 5 pounds less belly fat than those who ate a high-carb, lower-fat diet.
POTATOES pack healthy carbs

Potatoes contain a fat-fighting compound called resistant starch that can help keep weight in check. One medium spud with the skin will run you just around 100 calories, and with more potassium than bananas, potatoes also help fight heart disease by keeping blood pressure low.
DARK CHOCOLATE stops stress and fights disease
DARK CHOCOLATE stops stress and fights disease
European researchers found that people who ate an ounce and a half of dark chocolate – about 200 calories worth—every day for two weeks produced less of the stress hormone cortisol and reported feeling less frazzled. Cortisol causes a temporary rise in blood pressure; consistently high levels up your risk for depression, obesity, heart disease and more.

Charlie Sheen wants to acknowledge those who have stood by him during his recent troubles.

“I have a lot of work to do to be able to return the support I have received from so many people,” the actor, 45, says in a statement released by his rep Wednesday.

“I want to say, ‘Thank-you’ to my fellow cast members, the crew of Two and a Half Men, and everyone at CBS and Warner Bros … for their concern and support.” He singled out his bosses, CBS chief Les Moonves and Bruce Rosenblum, president of Warner Bros. Television Group.

“Like Errol Flynn, who had to put down his sword on occasion, I just want to say, ‘Thank-you,’ ” says Sheen. “And to my fans, your good wishes have touched me very much.”

The troubled actor began a personalized treatment program over the weekend after partying and a trip to the hospital with abdominal pain. His show is currently on hiatus.

Things Not To Say To A Woman Who Has Just Been Dumped

Yea no one wants to hear any of these responses below!!

Things Not To Say To A Woman Who Has Just Been Dumped

1. “He was probably gay.” Trust me. He’s not.

2. Trashing his appearance, his job, or his taste in music/literature/movies. You know, I did love the guy.

3. “I always hated [his name here]!” Really? You couldn’t have mentioned that while we were dating?

4 .Moaning about how the breakup is so upsetting to you. Sorry, but I don’t want to hear it.

5. “You have such bad luck with men. Maybe you should try a woman next time?”

6. Name-calling. While every recently dumped woman can appreciate a friend who calls her ex a “douchebag,” some of the comments people make when theyr’e trying to be helpful are just unkind.

7. “Oh, we always liked him! Can you still be friends?”

8. “You’re way too good for him anyway.” Um, then why did I just get dumped?

9. “It’s his loss.” I mean, technically it is. But something about it feels dismissive of my loss.

10. Suggestions on how to trash his stuff. Dude, don’t give me any ideas.

11. “What did you do?”

News: Morning BOUNCE Buzz

Hundreds of students from all five Halifax universities came together yesterday at Victoria Park on Spring Garden Road to protest the cost of post-secondary education.
Students called on the provincial government to do something about rising student debt and high tuition.

Earlier this week the province announced that tuition fees would be allowed to go up by no more than 3 percent.

The average student debt in Nova Scotia after graduating from an undergraduate program is $31,000.

Your daily horoscope

IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY:

A new moon on your anniversary is an omen of great success over the coming 12 months. Don’t allow yourself to be limited by what other people expect of you – do what feels right to you and do it from the heart.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20):

Just because something is wrong for other people does not mean it is wrong for you. Today’s new moon will encourage you to be more adventurous in your thinking, even if it puts you at odds with the majority. Explore new possibilities.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21):

Cosmic activity on and around the midheaven angle of your chart increases your chances of material success, so don’t hold back – go for your dream with every fiber of your being. Your desires are valid and valuable. Embrace them.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 21):

The sun in Aquarius gives your confidence a boost but other aspects warn you need to supplement that confidence with both subtlety and strength of character. To get what you desire try giving others what they desire first.

CANCER (June 22 – July 23):

You’ve kept your head down of late but you will be less fearful today about the path you are planning to take. Yes, of course, some people won’t like it, but do they matter? No they do not. It’s what you want that counts.

LEO (July 24 – Aug. 23):

Don’t just assume that other people know what you are talking about. Make sure they get the message. Spell things out for them in plain and simple language, as you might for a child. Big words will only confuse them.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23):

As Mercury, your ruler, changes signs today it might be wise to take a look at your working routine. Common sense tells you that you cannot possibly get everything done in one mad rush, so don’t risk it. Think of your health.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23):

Good news of one sort or another will come your way over the next 24 hours, but it’s really not unexpected. The new moon in Aquarius means a new start is not only possible but hugely desirable, so make that big change.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22):

Don’t waste your time trying to give a loved one the benefit of your advice today because they won’t listen. Just let them get on with it and be there to pick up the pieces when it goes wrong. We all learn the hard way.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21):

You seem to be in a carefree mood at the moment and long may it continue. Social events and travel plans are under excellent stars today, so get out and about and get yourself noticed. Everyone loves a sunny Sag.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20):

You must be honest and upfront in all your dealings today, especially those that involve money, directly or otherwise. The new moon will reward you if you make sure that everyone benefits. It’s a win-win sort of day.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19):

Not only is there a new moon in your sign today but Mercury, planet of the mind, moves into your sign as well. That suggests you know exactly what you should be doing and exactly how it must be done. So do it.

PISCES (Feb. 20 – Mar. 20):

If you look for reasons to work with other people, rather than against them, you will find that everything runs smoothly over the next 24 hours. Remember, too, that not everyone is perfect. Turn a blind eye to minor transgressions.
