It Costs a Damn Fortune to Be Someone’s Bridesmaid

It does contest a fortune to be a part of someone’s wedding but at the end of the day when it’s all said and done it was worth it and the memories are irreplaceable!

This is me in Niagara Falls for my friend Stephanie’s wedding! I loved the color of the dresses!

It Costs a Damn Fortune to Be Someone’s Bridesmaid

So one of your friends just got engaged and she didn’t ask you to be one of her bridesmaids. Your correct response should be . . . oh dear Lord, thank you.

–According to a new survey by WeddingChannel.com, the average cost for you when you’re asked to be in a wedding party is . . . $1,695.

–That’s what it costs these days to travel to the wedding, stay at a hotel, buy a dress, buy a gift, go to a bachelorette party, and cover other random expenses.

–The survey also found most women don’t realize they’ve spent that much.

There’s usually a good year-and-a-half between an engagement and a wedding, so the money kinda leaks out . . . and suddenly, you’re down nearly two grand.

How much did it cost you to be a bridesmaid?

After these two buses collide at an intersection watch how lucky this driver is in the green car.

He probably had his eyes closed and screaming the entire time and somehow comes out the other side without a scratch.

Prince William Beats Wife Kate in Dragon Boat Race

They just seem like such a fun couple who are willing to try anything which I think is why people are really taking to them.

They actually put in the time to get to know the culture and places that they are visiting!

Better luck next time, Kate!

Prince William beat his wife, Kate Middleton, in a friendly dragon boat race Monday in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Despite a downpour of soaking rain at Dalvay-by-the-Sea, the couple was able to fit in the afternoon race across Dalvay Lake.

As the couple suited up in lifejackets and other boating attire, a source told Us Weekly the two crews were fighting over which group would get to boat with Middleton!

When the couple stepped into the boats to row, William — clad in a blue checked shirt and grey cords — quickly got soaked. But “only half of me got wet,” he said later.

“Both he and Kate are very competitive, so I think [the race] was good,” Olympic bobsled athlete Heather Moyse, who presented William with his prize of a bottle of champagne, tells Us of the royals. “As a female athlete, I would be really annoyed if someone let me win.”

Despite her loss, Middleton remained in high spirits, telling attendee Hillary Thompson that “maybe next time” she’ll win.

After the race, William and his bride, both 29, walked along the waterfront to regain their energy — by sampling local culinary delicacies!

Overheard telling William she loved “all the food” — including pork belly — Middleton kept a smile on her face despite the downpour. Asked by her husband how she was holding up, Middleton reassured him that “this umbrella is perfect. Although my feet are soaked!”

Your daily horoscope

IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY:

What you want to do over the next six to 12 months is going to cost money. Opportunities to boost your income will come but you must also cut back on the money you waste. If you are serious about the future make every dollar count.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20):

You should be feeling stronger mentally now. If nothing else you will realize that certain issues are simply not worth getting worked up about, that what will be will be. If your attitude is positive, life will be positive too.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21):

You may not be the sort to wear your heart on your sleeve but you do need to be a bit more open with partners and loved ones today. If you keep things from them it will create misunderstanding and mistrust, and that’s not good.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 21):

If you have been holding back from saying something because you did not want to hurt someone’s feelings you will realize that your efforts have been counter productive. Not saying anything is likely to hurt them more.

CANCER (June 22 – July 23):

You will receive good news concerning your cash flow situation today and no doubt you will want to celebrate. That’s fine, but wait until you have the extra money in your hand, just in case there is a downside to the story.

LEO (July 24 – Aug. 23):

Mercury in your sign, linked to Uranus, planet of genius, will not only help you think clearly but enable you to speak to partners and colleagues on a level they can easily understand. Your message is important – make sure it gets through.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23):

You may not much like what you are expected to do today but you are advised to do it anyway. If employers and other important people see you are prepared to do things for them they will more likely do things for you.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23):

Your confidence will get a boost today, most likely from a colleague who praises your abilities. Yes, of course, they could be flattering you because there is something they want in return but nevertheless they are right: you’re special.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22):

You are full of ideas for the future: big ideas; amazing ideas; outrageous ideas. And, of course, being a Scorpio they won’t stay as just ideas – you intend to follow them through to the end. Greatness awaits you.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21):

You will experience a surge of energy and enthusiasm over the next 24 hours that makes all things possible. If you have been thinking of expanding your horizons in some way now is the time to stop thinking and start acting.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20):

A partnership that is based purely on convenience is unlikely to survive the stresses and strains of the next few days. But that’s okay. The planets indicate it’s time for a change. Get rid of the old so there is room for the new.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19):

You must ask friends for their permission before you do anything that could affect them in some way. If you just go ahead and act they will be extremely cross, and with good reason. Think how you would feel if the roles were reversed.

PISCES (Feb. 20 – Mar. 20):

By all means make changes but don’t expect everyone to be happy with them. Pisces is a flexible sign and knows how to adapt but not everyone is like you. If you want others’ support you must convince them that they will benefit too.
