Conrad Murray Got the Maximum: Four Years Behind Bars

Image via celebrific
CONRAD MURRAY received the MAXIMUM sentence . . . four years in prison . . . for administering a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol to MICHAEL JACKSON in June of 2009.
–In announcing his sentence yesterday, the judge said ,quote, “[Murray] violated the trust of the medical community, of his colleagues and of his patient.
–”And he has absolutely no sense of remorse, absolutely no sense of fault, and is and remains dangerous.”
–He added that Murray was, quote, “involved in a cycle of horrible medicine [and] engaged in a recurring continuous pattern of deceit, of lies” . . . and that he “engaged in this money for medicine madness that simply is not going to be tolerated by me.”
–Prosecutors also want Murray to pay $100 MILLION in restitution . . . which is supposedly the amount of money Michael would have earned if he’d completed the series of concerts he was rehearsing for when he died.
–A hearing on that was put off for another day.
One in Five People Have Used a Random Liquid to Clean Their Contact Lenses, Including Beer, Coke, and Butter

–The survey found that when people run out of cleaning solution, they’ll use whatever they can find around the house . . . including a lot of things that really shouldn’t go in your eyes.
–One in five contact lens wearers say they’ve occasionally used an unconventional household liquid as a stand-in for cleaning solution.
–One of the most common ways to clean lenses was to put them in your mouth, which Bausch and Lomb says is bad, because the average person’s mouth contains 500 to 650 different types of bacteria.
–A lot of people also use water. But even distilled water can contain microorganisms that could cause an eye infection or other damage.
–Then there are the people who think it’s a good idea to wash their lenses in the following liquids: Baby oil, BEER, Coke, petroleum jelly, lemonade, BUTTER, and fruit juice.
What have you used to clean your lenses of your glasses or contacts?
HUGGING plays a way bigger role in your life than you ever quite realized.

–According to a new study out ofEngland, the average person wants a hug THIRTEEN TIMES a day. Each of those hugs averages 9.5 seconds. (–That seems like aLOTof hugging for an awful LONG time to me . . .)
–And every month, we spend one hour hugging. That means you spend somewhere around 40 FULL DAYS of your life hugging.
–The study also found that 69% of people turn to their significant other for a hug. (–And hopefully 100% turn to them for a 69.)
–14% look to close friends when they want a hug . . . 9% look to their parents.
–About 14% said that they do their hugging in private because public displays of affection are inappropriate.
–33% said it’s inappropriate to hug in the workplace.
Is it inappropriate to HUG in the workplace???
I Won’t Let My 16-Year-Old Daughter Drive in the Winter: (Rating: PG)
My 16-year-old daughter just got her license in the spring. She’s a good driver, but my husband and I have decided not to let her use her car in the winter.

Image via studymagazine.com
–She can drive it to and from school, but that’s it. We don’t want her getting into any weather-related accidents, especially with other people in the car.
–Do other parents agree with me that their kids shouldn’t drive in the winter? Or, as scary as it seems, do kids need that winter driving experience?

(Cue Mason’s supercute diaper dance.)
In an exclusive statement to E! News, Kourtney says, “Scott and I are so excited to announce that we are expecting our second child and are thrilled to be expanding the love in our family.” Kourt first confirmed the happy news to Us Weekly.
And what perfect timing! The eldest Kardashian sister just started her web series, Kourtney’s Mommy Blog, on E! Online, where she dishes on what she’s learned raising Mason, shares her kid tips, parenting philosophy and A-list know-how, starting with fashion.
It seems fitting that there might be some pregnancy tips coming up soon, too.
