One Out of 11 People In a Store Shoplifts . . . and 75% of Shoplifters are Adults

When I look at the photos and watch the videos of the mob scenes from Black Friday, I wonder, “How do these stores keep people from stealing EVERYTHING?” And the answer is . . . they don’t.

–The National Association of Shoplifting Prevention just released some new statistics . . . and it turns out shoplifting is WAY bigger than you ever realized. Check this out . . .

–Statistically, one out of every ELEVEN people who walks into a store shoplifts something. Seriously.

–Retailers are set to lose $119 BILLION this year to shoplifting. That’s 1.45% of total sales.

–Only 3% of shoplifters are pros.

–70% of shoplifters didn’t go to the store planning to steal . . . but saw an opportunity and took it.

–75% of shoplifters are adults, most of whom have jobs. And 35% have help from a corrupt employee.

–Shoplifting is up 6% compared to last year.

Have you ever shop lifted and did you get busted???

Ashton Kutcher ‘Swarmed by Girls’ in Iowa Bars

It’s nice that he still feels that he’s not that big of celebrity that he can’t go home.

The picture he posted with the cow in the background is funny and perfect way to show where he is from

Ashton Kutcher was able to slip away from Hollywood, but not quite under the radar.

Just days after announcing his split from wife Demi Moore, 49, the Two and a Half Men star, 33, headed to his Midwest Iowa hometown for Thanksgiving. There he enjoyed nature as well as garnered attention at several local bars.

In between strolling through a cow-filled pasture from where he Tweeted a photo with the caption “Country Giving” on Tuesday, the actor hit up four watering holes.

“He was swarmed by girls,” Emily Krajicek, 22, a waitress at The Sports Column bar, tells PEOPLE of Kutcher’s Friday night visit. “He was swarmed by guys as well. You couldn’t get to his table. People were asking what songs he wanted to hear. He was singing, having fun.”

The good times went on earlier in the week as well, with Kutcher popping into Joe’s Place, The Airliner and Bo James – three other local joints.

At Joe’s Place, Kutcher had a lighthearted exchange with the woman working the door.

“She tried to ID him as a joke,” the bar’s manager Seth tells PEOPLE. “He didn’t show her anything, but was able to get in. She was just messing with him. He talked to her for a little while. He was a good tipper.”

Employees at the four bars said Kutcher was nice to people who approached him, but he refused to take any photos.

Overall, the step outside of Tinseltown was seemingly just what the soon-to-be-divorced actor needed.

“He was very happy to be home with family over Thanksgiving,” a source close to Kutcher tells PEOPLE. “It was nice to get away

He needs your advice… what should he do??

My girlfriend and I just moved into our first house and money is tight.

I’ve been saving for a ring and hoped to give it to her at Christmas so I said we shouldn’t buy each other gifts this year so that I can finish paying it off.

My girlfriend got angry and says I’m being too cheap.

I tried to use the mortgage as the excuse but she says that this is the most special year to give each other a gift and is suggested a $500 cap.

She’s been crazy over this but I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag.

Do you guys have a good excuse I can use to calm her down and get me out of buying a gift on top of a ring?

It’s the perfect pick-me-up as she recovers from throat surgery.

Adele, the Brit with the powerhouse voice, earned six Grammy Award nominations Wednesday night, including nods in all three of the award show’s major categories: album of the year; record of the year; and song of the year.

Kanye West, however, snagged the most recognition, leading with seven nominations, many for his collaboration with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne.

This year, like last, the Grammys spread the wealth across genres, with rockers Foo Fighters and R&B crooner Bruno Mars each picking up six nominations. Not far behind: rapper Lil Wayne and electronic dance jam pioneer Skrillex, who both pulled in five nominations, while indie rocker Bon Iver, Nicki Minaj, Mumford & Sons and Rihanna each earned four nominations.

Bon Iver, a new face at the Grammys, was also nominated for best new artist alongside The Band Perry; J. Cole; Minaj and Skrillex.

Major Nominees

For record of the year, nominees were Adele (“Rolling in the Deep”), Bruno Mars (“Grenade”), Bon Iver (“Holocene”), Mumford and Sons (“The Cave”) and Katy Perry (“Firework”).

Album of the year will pit Adele (21) against the Foo Fighters (Wasting Light); Lady Gaga (Born this Way); Bruno Mars (Doo-Wops & Hooligans); and Rihanna (Loud).

Vying for Song of the Year, which is awarded to composers: Kanye West and Rihanna (“All of the Lights”), Mumford and Sons (“The Cave”), Bruno Mars (“Grenade”), Bon Iver (“Holocene”) and Adele (“Rolling in the Deep”).

Many of the major nominations were announced during an hour-long CBS special hosted by LL Cool J from L.A.’s Club Nokia.

Lady Gaga kicked off the night with a haute Halloween-style performance of her new single, “Marry the Night.”

Rihanna, Sugarland – fronted by the recently married Jennifer Nettles – Jason Aldean and Ludacris also stepped up to the stage.

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will air live on Feb. 12 on CBS from L.A.’s Staples Center. For a full list of nominees, visit Grammy.com.

Tomorrow – Sunny and then cloudy late in the evening – High plus 4

Your daily horoscope

IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY:

Money and possessions are under excellent stars on your birthday and if you partner up with someone who shares your outlook on life you will strike sparks and make big bucks together. You’ll also make a lifelong friend.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20):

The only way you are going to realize your dream is to go your own way and do your own thing and ignore those who try to tell you that it just isn’t possible. It IS possible – that’s why they are so afraid.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21):

No matter how much others may try to persuade you that you will achieve more in the long-term by backing off a bit now you won’t listen – and quite right too. If it feels good, do it – and do it fast.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 21):

You will need to keep a sense of perspective today, especially in situations where large sums of money could be up for grabs. Yes, of course, you want to be rich, but is it worth selling your soul for?

CANCER (June 22 – July 23):

Cosmic activity in your opposite sign means others will be demanding in the extreme over the next 24 hours, and if you know what is good for you, you will do as they say – up to a point. Keep a low profile.

LEO (July 24 – Aug. 23):

If you are unhappy with certain aspects of your lifestyle – especially your work situation – now is the time to do something about it. Have you thought about breaking away? Maybe even working for yourself?

VIRGO (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23):

You may have to postpone something you have been looking forward to for quite some time, but you have promises to keep and you cannot let people down. Remember: it’s only a postponement, not a cancellation.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23):

If you have been taking too much for granted on the home front then what happens today will bring you back to earth with a bump. From other people’s perspective you have been living in a dream world of late. Wake up!

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22):

At some point today you will discover that someone has deceived you and while you have every right to be angry you should be most angry at yourself. The signs were there from the beginning. Why didn’t you see them?

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21):

Something that has been nagging at your mind for ages will suddenly make perfect sense and you will kick yourself for not working it out sooner. Now that you know what’s going on what are you going to do about it?

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20):

You may need to talk tough with someone today, but with Venus, planet of harmony, linked to Pluto in your sign your natural, if understated, charm will smooth off the rough edges. Persuasion comes easily to you now.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19):

You’ve worked hard and you’ve made sacrifices, and you are no doubt wondering when you are going to see some kind of reward for all the effort you’ve put in. Don’t be so impatient. Your time will come – and soon.

PISCES (Feb. 20 – Mar. 20):

You will be proved right about something today and your first instinct will be to make a big noise about it. But if you’re right that means someone else must be wrong. If you make them look small you’ll also make an enemy.
